Normally the domain of experienced property professionals and large developers, and as the above article suggests, 'The Top Rich', this advanced property strategy has been closely guarded...

Melbourne has again dominated Australia's population growth, adding 77,242 people in 2011-12 to reach mid-2012 with a population of almost 4.25 million.

According to the Melbourne Plan 2050 documents Melbourne is predicted to be a city of over 6 Million people by 2050. Some researchers, including the ABS, have models pointing at a population of closer to 8 Million? No matter which modelling proves to be the most accurate, the bottom line is that Melbourne’s population is going to grow dramatically in the years ahead.

Combine this with the fact that Melbourne as a city is effectively “land locked” due to Victorian Planning changes announced in 2013. Victorian Planning Minister Matthew Guy said Melbourne had reached its geographical limits and the days of expanding the urban growth boundary were over.
